I agree with Hot pants on this one. They made something so irreverant and without plot or meaning on purpose. Some people here are saying its about life and the chances we take, others are saying the gas station attendents help in a way we can not see. Personally I think someone thought it would be cool to turn a car-bed into a bed-car and drive it around for 90 seconds, call it a short film and see how people would glorify it online. The makers are laughing at those calling it "genious" and tell all this as a funny story during dinner parties.
shareI think it's pretty obvious that the bed-car was something from the set of Eternal Sunshine and that they were just screwing around. What doesn't make sense is trying to take this seriously.

with something like this, its not about "getting it", its just about doing stuff for the sake of doing it. the problem with movies today is that everything is there for the viewer to understand, there isnt anything to think about. at the end of the movie its all wrapped up in a nice neat little parcel.
the great things about this short film is that, yes, its something that was filmed while doing eternal sunshine, but it also has a life of its own.
you have to admit its hillarious, it doenst make any sense, and so what..!
if you get into the The Work of Director Michel Gondry DVD you start to understand that both him and Spike Jonze are seriously creative people, and part of the process of thier creativity is doing seemingly wasteful projects, but then out of that comes something like, the hardest button to button video from the white stripes, or the protection video from massive attack.
this video is a great little film, funny and wierd and sureal...more power to you, michel, keep on keeping on!!!
