Ethan on the Interrupting Commandment (?)

I know the producers of this film consulted with at least three rabbinical scholars, but I wasn't sure if Ethan's comment on interrupting had any truth to it.

I believe at the Seder table he says something like, "It's a commandment to interrupt--it's how we learn." I wasn't sure if Ethan was joking or not.

Anyone know if this is an actual Jewish commandment?
I'm quite sure interrupting is heavily frowned upon in Christianity.

Thank you,

To start, nothing in Judaism is simple.

What you call "The Ten Commandments" are really "The Ten Statements".

In Judaism we have a total of 613 commandments, none of which are The Ten Statements.

It is not a commandment to interrupt a lesson, but it is accepted that you don't learn squat if you sit there in class or in a seder like a bump on a log. You can't learn anything if you don't ask, even if it is bordering on contradicting your teacher.

Ergo, spirited debate and questioning is a very long and cherished tradition in Judaism.

To summarize: "when you have two Jews in a room you've got three opinions"
