Interesting Movie - spoilers

I picked up a bootleg in Vietnam with English subtitles, and am still wondering what to rate it. The acting is better than I expected, scenery and backdrops are amazing, makes me want to visit the places. Story is a little hard to understand; some things I didn't get: Main character Ushna(?) has no belly button, is a demon?, at end we find out she is being reincarnated over and over because of her past. But she isn't a demon, she is human? Why would a demon be reincarnated because of karma, would a real demon even die?

The Yeti, or "guardian of the mountains"...his role is never clear. Why is he pursuing the two? Yes, they are thieves, but at first it appears he is a policeman of some kind, but later on, he is immortal? In Tokyo he turns up near the end. And in one scene, after he "catches" the two, he walks away, casting off his clothes, and is it me or is he the Yogi who made the potion? So confusing. These are just a few things I didn't get.

Pros: Interesting story, great scenery, cute girl, horses...
Cons: Very little action, story gets strange halfway through, seems to go on a little longer than needed. Un-needed story lines, as in, why does the man, near the end, become a doctor and do what he does? Didn't add to the story at all, imo. Who knows...

I guess I'll give it a 6.5 or maybe a 7. Not a terrible movie, not even a bad one by any means. But it does take an open mind to watch it, and understand these people aren't masters of film-making like other nations. If you watch it with other more "intelligent" people, maybe spiritual people, buddhists, etc...it will lead to much discussion.

Yeah, well...that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Ushna was not a human. She was a God or demon who wanted to be human and escaped her "place". (Not sure just what the statue represents.)

As someone in another thread mentioned: "Yeti is also a protector of Mother Nature; he is in charge of maintaining the equilibrium. He is the guardian of the frontiers between worlds of humans, gods and demons."
He was pursuing Ushna, not the bandit, Jalan.
No, I didn't think the Yeti was also the Yogi making the immortal potion.
We see Yeti shedding his clothes and disappearing back into the Earth when Ushna was killed. This potion would not have any effect on her since she was not human. He was not able to find her until she reincarnated and finally met again with the immortal human, Jalan, and the equilibrium was once again in danger.
Jalan became a doctor to help others die. Something he could not do for himself.
