I really enjoyed the film but hang on a mo, Rodney Dangerfield at the end repeating a line from Caddyshack, "Hey everybody, we're all gonna get laid!" ?

I got a feeling the reason they never released it if that was dangerfield was as you said it was 2003. the director would have been black booked in films (rememeber the dixie chicks)Also this country back then was wayyyy to conservative. but i'm thinking it cant that far back though the avian bird flew wasn't anywhere to being that big in the news.
shareI think it wasn't shelved, I think it was filmed here and there over 5 years, I think it has been ready 4 or 5 times and each time it was rejected new stuff was added. Hence why Dangerfield is in it and why it also has some sections that are quite up to date.
