Beyond belief

I don't even think Mystery Science Theatre 3000 would touch this! (Seems to be about on the same level as the later SUPERMAN film from India.) How the filmmakers got this into theatres (and kept themselves out of court) remains a mystery the Man of Steel could not solve. The film opens with the camera floating through space...space being a black cloth with out of focus Christmas tree ornaments. Superman in flight was accomplished with a department store doll and rear projection. (Granted, the rear projection is not bad, but the doll's performance seemed a bit wooden.) Out of all the performers, the only one who comes across as an actor is the actress playing Lois Lane. Soundtrack music is pretty much limited to playing the double album of John William's SUPERMAN score, with snippets of classic music tossed in during certain scenes.

I agree, who knows how this ever got released due to it being such a rip-off of Superman The Movie. But it is funny to watch all the same.

Bob, I always enjoy reading your posts when I come across them. If you think this film is bad, then check out "Brazillian Star Wars" :-)

Your brain will hate you for the rest of your life.

Director Bryan Singer ripped off Supermen Donuyor(1979) in Superman Returns(2006). The main bad guy in SD breaks into a museum to steal Kryptonite. Lex Luthor does the same thing in SR. The shots of Tayfun and Brandon Routh looking into a car are identical. Supermen Donuyor ends with Superman going into space to look for remains of Krypton. Superman Returns begins with Superman returning to Earth from Krypton. Bryan Singer also did an homage to Puma Man(1980), a spaghetti superhero movie.

Not to mention "Süpermen dönuyör" translates into English as "Süpermen Returns".
