I have no memory of this tv movie at all! And living in 'Blue State' Hollywood with VERY politically knowledgeable spouse and friends, all I can think is this show was Repugnified, just like Idiocracy has also been...
I will definitely look for and recommend this one!!!
I wouldn't say it was terrible.....just different. Made by someone obviously jettisoned from the corporate world against their will, and just so happened to land in Hollywood-Land.
There are some laugh out loud moments, but the problem is that most of the characters are loathsome, no one to root for, because, well, they are all just plain idiots.....but we are talking about Corporate America after-all, what would one expect.
I don't understand the "Buried by Bush" topic line by the OP....What is that supposed to suggest?
It's the filmmakers' fantasy that the film was disturbing to the White House for some reason. One of many unfunny jokes from the 'memron' website:
The White House response to the film has been fairly measured.
White House Communications Intern Diane Bartlett told CBC television Friday that the points made in the documentary are "outrageously false."
"Ms. Hower has made it a habit of hers not to pay attention to facts. And she comes from a very extreme ideology. ... She's outside the mainstream."
Asked whether she would go to see the film, Bartlett replied: "If I wanted to see a good fiction movie, I might go see 'Shrek' or something, but I doubt I'll be seeing Memron. In fact I doubt anyone will see it if I have anything to do with it."
As an extreme measure, Memron producers are offering to sell a limited edition DVD of the film exclusively over the internet as a way of raising funds to continue their campaign to get it out to the the masses.
"This is an important film," Hower says, "And not just because I directed it. You won't believe what you see."
