Why so cheap?

I like the story, the characters and actors but still this seems to me one of the cheapest movies I know.
Did they use that cheap cameras or what's up with this movie? It's nearly like home made with the equipment...
Sorry if this sounds disrespectful, I like the movie but just have that special feeling about it...

Being a Danish film, maybe it adheres to the Dogme rules where it says
"The camera must be a hand-held camera. Any movement or immobility attainable in the hand is permitted." ?
