Favorite live song

I think Coldplay performs great live but some songs are not just good enough. My favorite song is clocks but I'm not satisfied with it live. I think Don't Panic is the best one performed live.

Which is yours?

Politik, The Scientist, and Life Is For Living are my favorites live. I love the change in vocals for these songs on the DVD. It usually bothers me when artists change the vocals too much, but Chris just seems to find a way to make them better.

Stevie, you're right, the Moses version on the DVD was awesome. I love Yellow, especially the piano versions I've heard, but as for the traditional versions I like it when Chris used to play guitar. (I think during later touring they had a guitar tech pick up the job so Chris could address the audience better).

Mike--curious as to why you aren't satisfied with the live version of Clocks? I always thought they performed that one most like the album version...

One other note, I didn't really care for the album version of Daylight, but it's grown on me after seeing the DVD...

I don't know. Clocks just has something in the live version that I don't like.

Yellow is absolutely amazing on the Live DVD. It made me jump, shout, hit some pillows. hehehe

yea i agree yellow was good live, but i liked politik too. chris marting said that he loves playing that song because originally it was written purely for the reason that they wanted to bang on their instruments as hard as they could. i honestly thought that all of them were performed well, and the only one that i didn't like was the scientist. although it's one of my fave songs i didn't like how he sung it.

Moses, definitely but also Don't Panic. And my favourite Coldplay song, Amsterdam. When Guy kicks in with the guitar, its fantasticly awesome.

"When Guy kicks in with the guitar, its fantasticly awesome."

That is the coolest noise I've ever heard when he plays that first note.

I can't believe no one included "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face"! The live version is so good and they rock so hard near the end. "Moses" and "One I Love" are also fanatastic.

I think my favorites are Politik, Moses, and Amsterdam. My band loves the way they open up with politik.

"Click....Click....Click....AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

It's like a climax of a really good story or something. Don't you guys agree?

Not on this DVD, but Coldplay's greatest live performance is probably Fix You in Glastonbury...But I might be biased cos thats my favourite Coldplay song :D

My Favorite song is " Fix You".

I think that the one they do really well on this DVD is probably "Clocks", it sounds really great and has a lot of audience participation. However, they don't always perform "Clocks" live that well though.

I love Don't Panic live.
And Jon with the harmonica *sighs*

im surprised not many people liked "God Put a Smile on Your Face". i think thats one of their best songs ever. ive never been to a live concert, but what i see on tv and in LIVE 2003 seems great. but at the same time i could be biased since God Put a ....is my favourite song. i love the lighting effect, and the way they all rock out. Guy looks so sexy when he plays the bass *sighs*. i also love yellow. you can tell that Chris feeds off the energy of the crowd.

A Rush of Blood to the Head is my favorite hands down. 1,000,000 times better than the CD version.

Daylight is way better on the Live DVD as well.

'There's no excuse to be sat down during this song. If you stand up I'll buy you all ice cream.' -- Chris Martin at the beginning of Yellow from Live 2003. I love the song in studio and live.

Daylight has to be the best song in LIVE 2003 for me, Amsterdam was a great outro and Politik was a great intro, also, Moses was nothing short of a masterpiece...

If you've seen one of their concerts recently, there's no way you can say their songs aren't good live. In fact, I've stopped listening to the recorded version of The Hardest Part because their live version is so much better.
