Alejandro a millionaire?

This is the part I dont understand, how did Alejandro become a millionaire? They state that he became richer than Hector. This was before Hectors business went bad. From what I can tell, Hector is a true millionaire, since he bought that house on the beach that looks like it would cost in the multimillions anywhere in the world, and it wasn't even an issue. Then Alejandro became a big time physician. Physicians earn very well, but not sure how you go from that to being a millionaire in less than 3 years. One of my friends in school had a dad who was a well reknowned surgeon in michigan and he made a little over $600k, however these days malpractice insurance is almost approaching $100k. assuming Alejandro made a little more than that, how exactly did he become a millionaire in 3 years. He doesnt even seem to have his own practice. He doesnt seem to have parented anything. He won some prizes that Maribels dad contributed, are these cash multi-million dollar prizes?

Not to mention that as good as he may be, he still only have 3 years experience. I personally research my primary doctors and wouldn't normally see someone with less than 5 years experience.

I know, its only a novela, but still
