Do they not teach the American troops any Arabic?

I know this is a really minor point, but I keep thinking about this as I'm wathing:

I keep watching the American soldier scream at people in a language they don't understand "lie down on the *beep* floor" or "get down", "face forward".

I literally can't believe that no one took the 10 minutes time it would take to memorize these phrases in Arabic.

It seems like it would at least ease a tiny bit of the terror as some civilian has a machine gun in their face & some soldier screaming something they don't understand. I would imagine it would make it a little easier for the Americans too.

I don't travel to another country without learning a few key phrases, I can't imagine you'd want to invade a country w/out trying that first too... but then the whole invasion makes no sense anyway....

This film is amazing, if only for showing us all the stuff American news seems unwilling to show us.

Yeah you'd think they'd learn that. In the second world war they had the English soldiers shouting 'HANDE HOCH!!' (hands up. (well. literally it's 'high' not up but oh well) to German captives. Which makes sense.

I hate how Americans assume everyone speaks English. When I went overseas I assumed everyone didn't, and tried to memorise phrases/mime things out.

Hell no! That would mean the purpose of invading Iraq was in itself meaningful beyond the purpose of elitist political agenda, which America will NOT have anything to do with.

Ask why, as$hole.

In modern media age viewers wouldn't appreciate our soldiers to speak Arabic language. Language of people who possibly did 9/11 and who treat women badly.
