What kind of Scrabble ?

I didnt quite get how they were using "words" such as 'Mo', and 'Ef', and 'Al'.. those are not words. Mo is a state abbreviation and shorthand for mailorder, Ef is the phoetic for the letter f... Some guy used the word 'Zebus' and I know that's not a word.

So, what gives?

These are all words contained within the Official Scrabble Dictionary;

Mo, is now considered another word for Moment and not just and abbreviation: e.g. "wait a mo"

Ef, is as you say a phonetic of the letter F but is considered a word in its own right

Al is a type of east indian tree

Zebus is i believe a type of cattle

when scrabble gets to this level the definitions are not important but rather the fact that they are valid words - therfore many will learn all two and even three letter words just to know that they can play them rather than to increase vocab - but yeah these are all valid words

A Zebu is an Asian ox. Zebus is the plural form. Check out the scrabble dcitionary to see the rules these people were playing under.

I used to be a good scrabble player and I knew all the special words in the scrabble dictionary. I would rack up over 400 points a game using all those litte two letter words that allow you to score in 5 different directions on one play. Then I played a few times using a real dictionary and I got crushed. Using the special dictionary makes the game 20 times easier.

Five directions at once? Are you using the diagonal variation or the 3-D version? It's no wonder that you can rack up so many points.

I find it hard to believe that you've played ZADDICK "more times than [you] can count," unless you can only count to two or you manage your rack every game in order to play ZADDICK, which would be pretty poor strategy, friend.
