Armenian Genocide march

I can't wrap my head around why the documentary chose to show the Armenian Genocide march..
It was either bad story telling / editing, or to make some kind of statement.
Personally I felt it was the latter and that statement cannot be a good one as they did not bother to explain the protest in any way...
It was more as if they were trying to say; look at these kind scrabble players in contrast to this shouting herd of people waving flags and being angry...

To be honest it felt slightly backhanded and insulting.
Just tried to watch a little more of the documentary but it still makes no sense as to why those cuts were added in. Just going to leave the film for now and come back to it another time. For some reason something doesn't seem right about that scene...
Anyways, just to see if anyone else felt the same way or if anyone has an explanation for those shots.
