Made me feel ill

so there's the idea that great things come about through struggle. Yet this is so boarder line. To me it feels like he got over his mother situation a few years into the project, but decided to persist with the tragic story line, for the sole purpose of making a movie. So personally this film as an idea is good, but executed on a selfish level for most of it which turns me off.

Since it's never possible to "get over" a mentally ill family member--especially your mother--I think you should retract your last statement. That came from a one-sided view. Yours. Have you ever had to find an apartment for someone, get them all set up, fill their food cupboard every month, pay half of their bills, and then have them decide again that they are going to stop their meds and demand again of you that you drop everything and go to them and have to be hospitalized again? No? Then please don't judge.
