I picked this movie up in the documentary section of my video store, so of course assumed it was one. Throughout the movie I was sort of questioning whether it was real or not, just for various reasons, but then was convinced by the action scenes. They all looked incredibely real and if you go in with the mindset that the story is truly being documented it is one of the most intense things you'll see.

Unfortunately, I can definitely see how if, knowing it was staged, it could be view as as a piece of crap.

If more people made the same mistake it would be rated higher.

I knew from the begining it was fake, (I also picked it up in the documentary section) and the action sequence clinched it. First off, he fires multiple rounds (more then 30), sencondly two rpgs completely miss him, and thirdly, he wasn't even using an AK, it seems to be some 9mm thing.

It is a .22 calibre version of an AK-47, probably made in America. It is not impossible to be found in the Middle East.

I thought it was real. Mid-way through the movie, I wanted to look up something on imdb (get some more information) and I learn that it's fake. Very dissapointed. I'll probably finish it but right now, I am angry. >:(

Don't be too angry at us. We had to think of way to get people to watch and more importantly talk about what we were doing. As people have been saying in other posts "its a lot like Blair Witch". I can't really argue with that except I am happy to say that after you were fooled by Blair Witch, you just felt robbed or cheated. With ST you can at least discuss some of the reality we did experience. And years after we made that film, the subject is still very relevant and worth talking about. Hopefully it entertained you at least a little bit. Thanks for watching...and thank you even more for finishing it.

I loved the film i think it was very well made. I liked the ending too though i think it would have been better to see the fire fight better than from a pov style. But thats just me being nick picky i think as a doc it was very good and even made a good action film. Also i think the acting was great and the film was very very well made. Shame it did not win an oscar i think it was best picture worthy
