I'm guessing the woman who jumped to her death at the beginning was killing herself after she found out what she was impregnated with. I found it odd that scene wasn't tied to anything else in the entire movie. I don't think it said who the woman even was.

There's also the later scene in which Betty the real estate agent is showing off the rental home she is trying to get them to take. She takes a glass of green goop out of the refrigerator and hopes they don't see it. You wonder whether the previous occupant of the home had been given special drinks by the clinic the way Rosemary was given special drinks by the coven in Rosemary's Baby.
