Advice for a future film maker? Please?

Can anyone give me advice on what not to do and who not to get involved with when I get to Hollywood? Should I stay away from Hollywood all together? How can I get profit for a movie?

Thank you in advance. :)

What not to do?
Don't ever think you are better than anyone else.
Don't ever talk about a film or cast/crew member to anyone if you think it MIGHT get back to a person relevant to what you are talking about unless it is 100% positive.
Never sit down unless told to.

What do you mean profit for a movie? A movie doesn't make profit until after it is released, and even then it isn't guaranteed.

There is no reason to stay away from Hollywood. That is the worse thing you could do. Get your name know to as many people as possible (in a positive light).

Qualify for an internship, then run around getting coffee for big shots until someone who matters remembers your name.
