Passion and Compassion with major spoiler

I thought the performances of the two main actors was pitch-perfect. As usual, even in the 21st century, single gender loving must end in the worst possible solution. Nope, they couldn't just get on the J-train and ride on out of the situation and restart their lives - although there's no sub-plot indicating that they COULDN'T do this. Nevertheless, I appreciate the filmmaker tackling the subject matter in the first place. Low budget - great production values - heartfelt screenplay - superb acting - good-looking actors = well worth the effort to seek this film out. I just stumbled across it at BlockBuster, of all places.

I also grabbed it off the shelf at Blockbuster. To me the relationship between the two was never solid enough. The acting by everyone was fantastic (however, the sister in the court room could've worked on her timing a bit more but that was all of twenty seconds). Its sort of horrifying how the majority of gay cinema has the ever-present terrifyingly painful climax.. would've liked for the film to end differently, but I'll admit the pain of watching it is just testament to the quality of the director's art.
