I have seen my share of action movies. But the fight scene on the roof was one of the most realistic and gritty fight scenes ever. By the way, Koreans don't care for ritualistic fight scenes including flying/fight scenes.
Can you recall any other realistic fight scene?
Just because it's Asian doesn't mean you have to expect flying and low gravity.
You only see that in Chinese wuxia (for the most part).
But yeah, that fight in the was really gritty and quite realistic. But i dunno, Oldboy, the corridor-sequence was pretty good :D

In the vein of the fight scene on the rooftop (heck, this film in general) two other Korean films come to mind. One is called GANGSTER HIGH, a film about a high school soccer club pulled into violence by an antagonizing rival gang. The fight in the finale is quite gritty. The second film is called THE ART OF FIGHTING. It's about a student who trains to fight through an unorthodox instructor to defend himself from bullies that constantly torment him daily.
