well it looks like im not allowed to watch this movie

i put in the DVD and it tells me i need to set my region to Region 3, and there's a limit to how many times i can set my region. which means if i set it to 3 on my last one, ill only ever be allowed to watch asian movies on my computer for the rest of this computer's life.

anyone else think that's the most retarded thing in the world?

Sorry but it seems to be like this.

when you buy the disc which is not available to your DVD player, that means that, the wrong region...no matter how angry you are, the same result (can't play anymore) still happened.

next time, please stare carefully which regions your DVD player can really play with. because I met many ppl in Video shop, they have this prob too.

they buy DVDs with a wrong region code (number diff/wrong)

they said why they buy a disc that can't be played then they found that the region number is not what their machine can play BUT they can't get their disc refunded/exchanged/redeemed. even if you redeem new disc, still that unplayable region number. u can't be able to change back to a diff region number/code.

What else can you do? You can buy a multiregion DVD player. It is even possible that your home dvd player (that is, not your computer) can be set to be multiregion; just do an online search for the make and model number followed by "multiregion." I'm amazed that no one else seems to have mentioned this.

Is it "the most retarded thing in the world" that you can't watch a region 3 disk on your region 1 player? No, but it is really totally gay that in 2009 you didn't know about region coding of DVDs. It's not rocket surgery.
