Just to let you know, 'The Illustrated Mum' will be shown again on channel 4, It is due to be played on Monday 28/11/05 at 10.05 am, and i assume throughtout the week at the same time.
"Shut Your Dirty Whore Mouth, Player Player" - 'Mary Cherry'
I'll be at work at that time, but since I taped the programme last time it was on, it doesn't really matter. :) But shh, don't tell Channel 4 that I taped it. I still think I'll probably get the DVD at some point, but until then I'm keeping my copy...
I don't know about "throughout the week", though. Has it ever been serialised? I've only seen it as a single programme. The one I taped was a single stretch of 1 hour and 40 minutes. (If I recall correctly, there were no breaks, which would be odd for a commercial channel, but maybe it was because it was meant for schools or something. Or maybe I've just remembered wrongly...)
Oh. Maybe. Or maybe they stuck it together after playing it in bits! If that's true, I hope they didn't miss anything out.
They did something similar with Feather Boy last year, actually. They showed it in six episodes on weekday afternoons in March and April, and then on Sunday 30th May showed a single feature-length version of the story, made by stringing the episodes together and editing bits of it out to keep the length more manageable. But then they repeated the six episodes this year, so that people had another chance to see the whole thing.
I don't know if this is a common thing to do, but I can't think of any other examples off the top of my head.
