Eve Shopsin looked rather sickly in the film. While watching it, I was thinking she looked so much older than her husband Kenny, even though I knew she wasn't. Especially as old photos were shown throughout the film of her and Kenny in their younger years, they looked to be close in age.

In the film, Eve looked much older than 56 years old, her age when the film was made. She looked like a woman in her 70s, she also had such awful posture. I guess she was already ill during the filming but didn't know it yet.

I recall one of their sons talking about her smoking habit in the film, how he shared the habit.

Smoking is a sickening, extremely addictive and completely horrible habit, when you see nice decent people as Eve Shopsin die from it, it should be a huge wake up call to stop, unfortunately for many smokers, it never is.

This link is dead. Bugs me that people link to external sources when they could just answer the question in thread if they know.

I appreciate that this is a private family matter but when you spend 100 minutes or so with a family and this sort of thing is sprung on you without explanation, that is, as another poster noted, pisspoor documentary making.

A brief websearch suggests lung cancer, tho I cannot vouch for the accuracy of that.

it was really bad editing/timing to have kenny shopsin's story about the armed robbery at the mcdonalds right after you find out that eve died. i was confused for a minute about whether she got killed by one of the guys with a shotgun, which would be horrifying. i was horrified for a minute.

also, you really should change the title of this thread to say "SPOILER".

Have some respect. We're not talking about a movie's plot, he's asking how a person died. She was a real person, not a character in a movie.

Also, get a damn life and quit worrying about spoilers.

I was also wondering about this, because of course in the film, it just says "One Year Later" and suddenly she's dead with no explanation. I honestly thought that was rather poor doc-making, having someone is so prominent in the story and movie die and not at all telling the audience why. I get that perhaps the family didn't want to talk about it, that maybe it was still too fresh, but they could've at least put some words up on the screen or something.

I was genuinely sad to hear that she'd died. Her and Kenny's relationship was indeed a tempestuous one from the looks of it, but I could tell there was a lot of love behind it all. He must have been devastated when she died.
