the ridiculous amount of product placement in this film..

first off... I love click... its one of my favorite movies

That being out of the way... the amount of product placement in this movie is ridiculous.. Sandler is known for this... but there was almost something in every scene

Just what I can think of

Twinkies
Yohos
Bed Bath & Beyond
TGI Fridays

who can think of more? There's so many but thats all that comes off the top of my head. It's very well integrated into the story line sneaky stuff lol

Dont Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood=most underrated comedy ever

reply

i've never understood people's problems with product placement in movies or even on television. these shows and movies are supposed to be taking place in the real world, regardless of the story or circumstances. so of course they should have actual products.

maybe i'm weird but i'm taken out of a movie or show when they use fake products. i wanna see people drink coke or pepsi and not "cola drink" or whatever. lol

reply

If those were actually paid for, the customers who buy those products and pay for the ads were ripped off. The cakes are shown to make you enormously fat, Bed Bath and Beyond is depicted as being empty and staffed by emotionally unbalanced clerks who do nothing unless you go into the back room staffed by the Angel of Death, and TGI Fridays is shown to be full of drunk Japanese frat-boys.

reply

It's fine, compared to futuristic video games where you sometimes see ads from the modern world.

If you don't believe in Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it, put this in your sig.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

I agree. The movie started off with a pointless Twinkie joke that had nothing to do with the movie. I don't mind if the product placement adds to the movie in some way (thinking of Subway in Happy Gilmore), but to just show people eating Twinkies repeatedly is stupid.

reply

Twinkies = THE very standard of fat guy food.

I hear them mentioned in movies and television all the time, it's not product placement, moron.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

Agency,

Not product placement? You're stupidity is stunning.

reply

Yes, I'm sure people questioning idiotic claims (made sans proof, no less) is "stunning" to the moron that is you.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

What kind of proof would you like? You want me to provide you a link to the contract drawn up by the movie studio and the Twinkies corporation? Do you also want me to provide you proof that 2+2=4? Think about it dip$hit.

reply

[deleted]

Thanks for the heads up. This guy probably thinks the movie E.T. made no attempt to advertise Reese's Pieces.

reply

[deleted]

Wow, you followed me this far? You're so stupid, it's unreal. And my my, how you lie. It's you who got upset when presented with facts, you pathetic stalker, and you who goes around insulting people anonymously to feel big and bad on the internet, what a joke.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

No, but an article about it would be nice. Something. Anything? Twinkie gets mentioned in film and television without having paid for it all the time. You're typing out of your ass then not understanding how people don't just assume as foolishly as you. Idiot.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

Dear Agency,

It sincerely worries me that a person as unequipped to deal with life as you is left to bungle his way through this world. It will indeed be a sad and bitter existence for you. The level of anger you reveal on a message board about an Adam Sandler movie is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to your rage. I suppose I can't blame you. If I was given your mind at birth and then told to live the American dream, I'm sure I would be bitter and unhappy as well. I wish you only the best you unfortunate soul.

reply

Lmao, nice dramatic projection, pansy. But you're still an idiot with no proof.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

(yawn)

reply

An internet yawn? Ok, that's not too pathetic, haha. A real yawn and no response would've been more powerful, moron. Just go away and stop embarrassing yourself.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

reply

I already made my point. If knuckle-dragging neanderthals like you can't understand it, then I'm not going to take the time to elaborate. If you're that interested, ask someone more intelligent than you to explain it.

I find your comment (and others like it) boring and trite. Thus the yawn.

I'm done here. Ask mommy to explain.

reply

You misused "trite," my dear simple boy. Sorry, but no one buys you as intelligent so stop trying. You're clearly a child... or more likely, an adolescent with child-like understanding. I mean "knuckle-dragging neanderthal?" Haha, what? Talk about trite, not to mention overdramatic.

You claim the mention of twinkies is product placement but can't prove it and are incapable of conceiving a scenario where one would mention the snack without being paid to, and that is why you lost this argument... if one can even call it that. I wouldn't considering your lack of proof. You made no real point, just whined a bit. You wont elaborate because you can't, haha. I asked for proof and that's about when you fell face-first.

And bored? What a childish and nonsensical slight. I guess we can only imagine the response that would have thrilled you, huh? What a laugh. You're going to be an idiot for a while, kid.

I met Cinderella once... she's actually kind of a bitch.

What's a Twinkle? Ha! You are a riot.

Here's my impression of Agency757:

you are soooo not smart. your probaly a littke kid in his mommys basemet. ha ha waaah! no one thinks your smart except you. nice try kid. come back when you have a brain in your head. click is the bestest movie ever. if you cant see that than your a moron. ha ha. you wish you wer smart like me. nice try.

Agency, may I suggest some websites for you:

dictionary.com
spellcheck.net
yourged.org
downsyndrome.com

reply

You realize that that was a typo, don't you? I've written "twinkie" in all of my other posts here, you notice? And why would you ask what a "twinkle" was? "Twinkle" is a real word, you know? Or were you honestly unfamiliar with it? You can't even insult someone without making yourself appear stupid. And on that note, spell check would be useless too as, again, "twinkle" is an actual word, hun.

I'm sure it's no coincidence you chose those sites. I'm sure that you're very familiar with them and that they've helped you understand why you're so much slower than the other kids in school and what those big words they were calling you meant, but no thanks. You should have used that first one before trying out "trite" though as, again, you used it incorrectly.

"I'm done here. Ask mommy to explain."

What happened to that? Morons are always weak-willed, it seems.

Thanks for the laugh. Seriously, your posts are really funny. I know that sounds sarcastic, but it's not. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to respond to my posts. I really enjoy reading them, and they always make me laugh. Again, not using sarcasm here.

reply

Wow, ironic. Unlike you, I'm actually laughing... well, chuckling. This is humorously pathetic of you. But sure kid, we all believe you're laughing.

Hope you're able to exercise some self-restraint this time.

Oh please, you're the one who keeps following and stalking me, weirdo. Who do you think you're fooling? Nice try though, creeper. Anyway, watching you be pathetic after failing to make an argument is funny. Pretend to laugh more, moron. I won't even bother with originality. Carry on.

If YOU'RE telling someone that their stupidity is stunning, it would help if you used the correct word!

"Your stupidity is stunning" is what you meant to say.
Can't call someone stupid when you're clearly not up to snuff on elementary school grammar lessons!

I like product placement...like someone else said, it's better than fake products. It's like 555 numbers in movies, that always takes away. One of my favorite things about "Sneakers" is that the number the agent gives River Phoenix is not a 555 number, it made the movie feel more real.

reply

Moron, YOUR bus is leaving.

reply

??? Who are you talking to?
I just wanted to point out that if YOU'RE going to be calling people stupid, YOUR credibility would be higher if you didn't use the wrong words.

reply

Are you proposing that ANYONE on this message board has credibility? If so, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You could be a 50-year old independently-wealthy, board-certified neurosurgeon, but you would still have eggheads on imdb calling you a 12-year old loser sitting in your mom's basement. So pardon me if my #1 goal in life isn't establishing cred on imdb.

reply

Lmao, thing is kid, it's very unlikely that a "50-year old independently-wealthy, board-certified neurosurgeon" would be brandishing about his/her stupidity on the forums of imdb. And yes, anyone can have or lack credibility in any medium. You tell your mental age/maturity level and level of wit (or witlessness) with your posts (by what you type and how you type it).

Also, if one is wealthy because they're a neurosurgeon, then they're not "independently-wealthy."

Is it wrong to assure a young girl that she's ugly? I mean what's wrong with not being pretty?

reply

Ha ha kid. Come back in about 10 years and we'll have a big person conversation.

reply

Lol, you're a funny little hypocrite. Anyway, why bother? I'm sure you'll still be a dumb kid who doesn't get it in 10 years.

Is it wrong to assure a young girl that she's ugly? I mean what's wrong with not being pretty?

reply

LOL! I'm the idiot for not thinking Adam Sandler is a genius in the mold of Laurence Olivier and Marlon Brando. And I'm the child because I don't think Click is the best movie since Citizen Kane. Give me a break.

Your arguments are as illogical as they are meaningless. In your last post, you commented that I was dumb for calling a neurosurgeon independently wealthy. This is wrong on at least two levels. First of all, a neurosurgeon could be independently wealthy if he/she had his/her own business, as opposed to working in a public hospital or clinic and (2) he/she could've came into money in no way associated with his/her work (e.g. like an inheritance).

Then I mocked you for falling on the ancient imdb practice of accusing the other person of being a child. This is the oldest and maybe the dumbest practice in the imdb book. "Hey I don't agree with you. You must be some dumb kid." Good one. Sounds like you're experiencing a little reaction formation (look it up).

You're trying to pretend that you're this enlightened and intelligent individual, but you're defending a critically-panned Adam Sandler movie. Doesn't exactly put you in the best light now does it?

reply

"LOL! I'm the idiot for not thinking Adam Sandler is a genius in the mold of Laurence Olivier and Marlon Brando. And I'm the child because I don't think Click is the best movie since Citizen Kane. Give me a break."

What in the hell are you talking about? You're an idiot, sure, but not for any of those reasons.

"Your arguments are as illogical as they are meaningless."

Which arguments? And illogical how?

"In your last post, you commented that I was dumb for calling a neurosurgeon independently wealthy."

No. I didn't. What abysmal reading comprehension you have.

"This is wrong on at least two levels. First of all, a neurosurgeon could be independently wealthy if he/she had his/her own business, as opposed to working in a public hospital or clinic and"

Their own business? You mean like a neurosurgeon business? Lmao. Learn your terminology kid or you'll tell your age then get upset when others notice it. If a physician is making money from a private practice, they are still not "independently-wealthy." You really are an idiot.

"(2) he/she could've came into money in no way associated with his/her work (e.g. like an inheritance)."

*come into money, dear. This is possible. Terribly irrelevant but possible. Never said it wasn't. Not sure why you posted this. Oh wait, no, I remember, it's because you're a moron who can't read.

"Then I mocked you for falling on the ancient imdb practice of accusing the other person of being a child. This is the oldest and maybe the dumbest practice in the imdb book."

Is it? Every cohort behaves a certain way. Steretypes come from a very real place. Adolescents/youths/children behave/respond in noticeably distinct ways that older cohorts generally do not. You're an inherently dumb and unwise ilk who stand out in very obvious ways to those with even minimal percipients. You are acting the way a child would which means you're either an immature adult, or a typically dumb kid. I happen to think it's the latter.

"Sounds like you're experiencing a little reaction formation (look it up)."

I can just imagine you picking up this term somewhere (someone used it against you perhaps?) and, vaguely understanding it, deciding to adopt it as part of your vernacular to feign intelligence despite, again, not fully understanding the theory. This is made clear by your embarrassing misuse of the phrase. This is a typical child's error, btw. Yes, adults do it too but children do it most. In ten years, if you get the chance, read some papers by adolescents, or maybe your own old papers, and you'll see what I mean. I hope you're not dense enough to still be wondering why one would take you for an adolescent/child.

"You're trying to pretend that you're this enlightened and intelligent individual, but you're defending a critically-panned Adam Sandler movie. Doesn't exactly put you in the best light now does it?"

When did I ever defend this movie? You are an unintelligent, unenlightened, and unperceptive little fool through and through.
