How did he get Mary Louise to do this movie???

I have always respected and loved all of her choices of roles...but this one really was questionable. She must be a friend of the writer/directors...

This movie has more to it than meets the eye. In the eyes of many "outsiders" New York City seems like a place that would be filled with adventure, and i'm not sure that it truly lives up to its reputation. Though I call this place my home, there is crime on almost every street. I am not afraid of this city but it can be quite terrifying at times. The Best Thief in the World may not have been filmed to your liking, but its showed a small aspect of what city life is like for a family with very little money. Izzy may have been a strange kid, but people get "messed up" when they're in situations similar to that. That movie truly showed us how hard that life can be. And for the little children that curse, there are 4 and 5 year olds walking down the street everyday cursing at whomever they can because the adults are setting the wrong example. I dont think that you gave this movie enough credit!

"Crime on almost every street"?? Where in the city do you live? Sorry I just noticed this and have to disagree - NYC may be "terrifying" at times but it's not because of out-of-control crime. Not anymore.
