Where is the show filmed?

Just out of curiosity, where is "Paula's Home Cooking" filmed? I know that's not really her home kitchen, but I always assumed it was in or near Savannah. But I recently saw a couple of people on another discussion board say that the show's actually shot in the Northeast somewhere, although they had different ideas about the exact spot. It's not a big deal, but I was just wondering. And all that travel is a lot to put ol' Gertie through just for the few times she gets to appear on camera ... (always assuming that Gertie is actually Paula's dog, and not just an accessory for the show!)

I'm not sure where it's filmed but, I just love Gertie. She's such a sucky baby. Just like my dog at home.

I sat thinking about this for a bit and I don't see how her show could be filmed in the Northeast. Especially since in several episodes, it shows her going to places in Savannah for ingrediants, etc. Why would she go to such lengths to travel back and forth from the North to her home in the South? Not sure, but if you ask me, I think whoever said her show was in the North isn't thinking clearly lol. :-)

The newer episodes are actually shot in the kitchen at Paula's custom-built home that she and her new hubby Michael both moved into. The first eps Paula ever shot were shot in the kitchen at the home her sons were sharing at the time, then the shooting was moved up to her producer Gordon Elliott's upstate New York home, where she filmed most of her eps. I'm not sure whose dog Gertie is. I think she might be her sons' dog (she has two small black & white dogs) or she could even be Elliott's, but I'd be more apt to believe she's the sons'.

The show was originally filmed in upstate New York at the home of producer, Gordon Elliott. It is now filmed at her home in Savannah. Gertie belongs to Gordon Elliott and continues to live in upstate New York.

The show is now (it's 2007) filmed in Paula's home in Savannah. Originally, it was as you noted filmed in the northeast, specifically in New York state, in Dutchess County.

And don't worry about Gertie! She didn't have to travel at all except to get from her bed to the food; Gertie went with the house where the show was filmed for the first 3 years.

I've always assumed that they just get her to wear the same clothes and film those parts when she's really in Savannah.

I think it might be her home (or a home that she owns). She probably has a big house, and it seems like they live there...
