I watched the first 2 episodes, not enough interest to finish the series.

Can anyone tell me what was the overall plot on why these peeps disappeared?
Aliens?
God?
..?

You must have found it interesting if you want to know what happened? At the end of the first season you find out it was people from the future apparently the human race was dying off and these people can change that. not sure what happens in season 2-4 but in season 1 they start getting some interesting powers

You're so stupid. You will learn a lot more watching more than two episodes. It all happened cuz of what the future humans did. Now go behave and watch it.

Oh come on just tell us. It's a waste of time to sit through all that silly, bad acting with so many irritating and unlikable characters - and all their interspersed baloney. Who in the sam hill took them and why - and why were they sent back? Were these 4400 supposed to make significant alterations to benefit humanity's future? Why did they pick up and put back 4400? Why not 3,371?

Basically the people abducted was not by aliens, but a future generation who had perfected time travel. The reason they made it was terrible wars, famine and disease had ravaged the world. They took these people, giving them gifts to right the wrongs before they occured.
