What shows is this similar to?

I'm thinking of checking it out as I generally like sci-fi based shows and superhero shows in general. It seems like an interesting concept. I'm currently almost done with my Heroes rewatch and noticed this series listed on Netflix.

it has one thing in common with x-files, john doe, under the dome, fringe and a couple of others, which is that they started with a great idea and plot wise went from great to complete out of this world bs in a short amount of time.

depends. if you exclusively watch the first season, then you are in for a treat. if you watch any further, that will ruin the experience.

If you liked Heroes enough to rewatch it, then you'll like 4400. I just finished watching it on Netflix, liked it and am looking for the books written after it was cancelled.
