I noticed that four very similar reviews for The Rockville Slayer appeared on amazon.com today - they all gave the film five stars and all seemed to be written on the same day and in a very similar style. Is this a coincidence or something very sad?

All the screeners to the press went out on the same day. All the reviewers must have watched it and reviewed it on the same day.

Are you suggesting that journalists (who you sent screeners to) were SO impressed by your film that they decided to add a review to amazon.com?

Most of the positive reviews for this film are fakes. it's all a sad state of affairs & looks like a kid stuffing the ballot box for class president or sumthin' like that. They're so obvious fakes that it's sad too. And then trying to defend it, even worse!
sharei just ordered my copy online. the reason is because it is so obvious that all the good reviews are so fake, its also obsious that some of the bad reviews are fake. im betting this movie sucks balls judging by the trailer but curiosity and all that. hell it might be a laugh to have the lads over and watch it. ever see that horror film the nostrel picker. funniest thing ever.
shareIf the positive reviews are fakes and the negative reviews are fakes, I say the fake negative reviewers are closer to the truth. Seeing how the positive reviews all sound similar and seeing that the director wasted his time and everybody elses to post his silly comments on imdb leads me to believe that it is the director behind this whole fake review mess. His fake reviews show as little originality as the script. I wrote a review for the film before I read about this fake review brouhaha. If I knew about this my review probably would be a little more negative.
shareGeez, some people just don't give anyone credit anymore. Go out there and make your own movie. I love indi films, even if some are worse than others. Believe me, there are plenty of movies out there that are way worse than this. I found this to be watchable and it really wasn't that bad. Just my thought. I give whoever posted a comment on this credit to defend their work. I would totally defend it if it were mine. I think half the people out there would too. I guess making movies isn't for everyone and it's easier for people to review it and not like it. But let's get real here, has anyone on this message board made a film. I say Rock On to those indi filmmakers out there. You guys have some balls!
sharePatty05, this thread has nothing to do with giving people credit - its about what appears to be the organised placement of fake reviews for the film...a very pathetic thing to do in my opinion.
sharewow...some people must really have a ton of time on their hands to bad mouth movies for no apparent reason. indie filmmakers at least get experience by getting their work done and out there...Unlike some others who just prefer to sit on message boards and criticize, etc.
