Second Song On Film

Who is it? It's by some female who sounds just like Beth Orton. Realy good.

On the other hand, someone needs to tell that freak with the tan Telecaster that he suuuuuuucks.

Thanks for the info on this! She is on the soundtrack of V for Vendetta too, so hopefully some more exposure for a great voice.

That is weird, I liked Cat Power too and even though "the guy with the telecaster" can't sing he doesn't suck. He is very good at what he does which is: he paints a complete picture with lyrics and sounds. You may not like it but he really doesn't suck. The lady that starts singing in the beuty shop is Maggie Brown. I liked the way they used her beautiful singing and great voice juxtaposed to his off-style.

Anyway I Liked it. . .

I liked it when the woman in the barber shop started singing. That was awesome.

Johnny Dowd (guy with telecaster) is a true original and an artist. I love his work, and he's the reason I watched this film. The film was interesting and scary and funny and sad. Worth watching.

Johnny Dowd is the Man, man. He sings character songs, and his lyrics are some of the most visceral and poetic I've ever heard. His voice is exactly what it needs to be for his songs, and for my money it's not only badass, but far more interesting than a soft, traditionally "good" singing voice. His instrumentation is also brilliant. Check out his albums.
