Harry Crews

Ok it was sort of a letdown seeing Harry Crews in real life. The old man with the cane who was trying to get us to see the genius in his idiotic ramblings. Actually that was the whole movie but, to find out that Harry Crews was in this was surprising. His novel, A feast of Snakes is a pretty good novel that I recommend.

Are you high? If not, then you should be. Maybe you're just a yankee or a post-modern pup who cannot appreciate the mythology of Sears Roebuck. I pity your disposition.

Harry Crews was THE BEST part of this documentary. I am a yankee, and I could appreciate his offerings of the insight to the southern man. Too many northerners move to the south and try to alter the southern lifestyle to fit their former enclaves - that is why southerners hate us so much. Well, that and The Reconstruction.

i checked this movie out randomly from my library and was surprised to see crews. i had no idea he was in it. (i had only read "the mulching of america" at the time.)

nevertheless, i agree, he definitely stole the show. crews is like a southern-fried version of bukowski.
