surfing.....??

Am I alone when i say that, though i live nowhere near any sort of ocean and have never stepped on a surfboard in my life, this movie makes me really want to just go jump into mavericks completely experience free?

Really? You mean common sense doesn't indicate to you how incredibly foolish that would be? Mark Foo, an extremely experienced big wave surfer dies there on his second wave (a freak circumstance, yes) and you think it's prudent to just head out into Mavericks without any experience. That either says a lot about a death wish or your ability to measure danger. That isn't to say you would for sure die, too many factors go into it, but the odds certainly wouldn't be with you and I really doubt you'd come out of it saying you had a good time. How would you expect to have a good time with it since you've never even stepped on a surfboard and ridden a wave? I think given the lack of responses you're pretty much alone except for a handful of other fools that never saw your post to jump on the bandwagon.

Calm down goober woof. I get what the OP is saying. He's really talking about how well done this film was. It captures the essence of surfing so well that, even though he's never been a part of that world, it makes him want to just get out there. Of course he never would actually attempt to tackle Mavericks on a whim.

Jeez... lay off, woofagooba. Like the poster above me said, he's just expressing a desire to try to surf, as a result of watching this movie. I doubt he actually would want to go tackle some near-certain-death stuff, or was advocating such.

I totally know what you mean
