This is a film that people criticize for missing this and missing that. And they left a lot out.

It would seem to me that another half hour or more of story and footage, and more of those quick cut rides and still photos, would be something a LOT of people might buy - a full-length director's cut.

I don't know if they could round up the three principals again to explain the new footage. And their commentary was extremely interesting. But I think it would be really something to see a lot more put in the film, without it necessarily suddenly becoming about all the surfers they left out. It still will be a three-act piece.

In terms of surfing films this is already a very long, albeit, interesting film. I believe there are already accessible extras on the dvd, so I'm not sure why you'd expect a director's cut of well over 2 hours. I couldn't see it ever occurring.🐭
