hey i was just wonderin what happened 2 jimmy and how he died and if natalie saw him again, cuz they said nothin in the movie...

dunno its the guy who was her boyfriend when she was a teenager, they said maybe he killed himself or somethin because she left him

I think the movie exaggerated a lot, and not just about Jimmy!

Particularly the portrayal of RJ! Last night I was watching an episode of NCIS and I found myself thinking that Michael Weatherly (who played RJ in TMONW) was far more RJ-like in NCIS! He looked more like him and his character was far more RJ-like! What a pity he didn't just use his NCIS characterisation when he played RJ!

when this film was made, MW was still establishing his NCIS character (if you look at DiNozzo from season one to season 2, you can see quite a difference in the portrayal), so it's quite possible that he didn't have his DiNozzo well-enough defined yet. it also could have come down to the director's instruction as to the character. ironic that RJ has appeared as DiNozzo's father a couple of times on NCIS.

when natalie left him that day, and dropped the ring to the ground, he ran inside, grabbed a shotgun and shot himself.
however, fortunately enough, he didnt die, as the narration says at the time.
it also said tht natalie never did see him again, although she was awfully distressed to her about his attempt at ending his life, she cried and didnt leave her room for a week.
she never spoke of him after that day. when questioned about her boyfriends, she named a few, but his name never came up.

That's my understanding of what happened as well.

I can only assume that he was wounded, as he used a shotgun.

What a tragedy!
