I need some information...

Yes, this may be one of the most discussed topics conserning this film, which I quite enjoyed, at a certain level. However, I feel the need to dig a little deeper into this. Would all Americans, and in case you feel pointed at, then all the people from all over the world, help me on this one. Is this how Norway is viewed abroad? I realize that this is a cartoon for kids, and not that important, but I am just curious. If this was supposed to be a joke (which it probably was), then I will extend my deepest apology. It is just, that Norway is a part of the Western culture, since it's, logically, in the West. Which would mean, that we eat hamburgers, hot dogs and drink Coca Cola (Coke). Of course, they do this in the Eastern part of the world as well, but this may generally be because they have a culture that takes in more or less many things we have, and so do we from them, like Manga pocket books. Anyway, all I want is an answer, and by all means necessary, different point of views from a lot of people. As long as everyone keeps this at a respectable level, I don't mean to make a fuss.

Thanks!

I think they just picked a country on the other side of the world and overdid some stereotypes. Hell, it happens all the time to any country. Even the US. So I wouldn't take it personally.

It's a cartoon. It's meant to be a joke. If it was Germany they'd show them all in Lederhosen and carrying Biersteins.

Just like we know all redhead high school cheerleaders aren't super crime-fighters, we know Norwegians aren't the way they're portrayed in this film. I honestly don't know anything about the culture of Norway (I know anything and everything about German and Japan though) but I know stereotypes are generally used just for fun and if anyone really believes them they're an idiot.
