Don't ever talk to my caddy again. (Spoiler Alert!)

A great line among many great lines, most of them give either to Eddie or Ted Ray. Others: "Easy peasey, lemon squeezee." (Is that where we got that line?), "Blimey, they're easily amused.", and "Dames, who needs'em?",

What a wonderful movie! I knew the outcome going in, but I was still on the edge of my seat until he sank the last putt. I'm not a golfer, but my late Uncle was a pro. He would have loved this film, as I did. I especially enjoyed when his father showed up at the end. Kind of predictable, but still a great moment.

I was amazed by two things: how they could play wearing suit jackets, and that they played in the rain. A tougher breed of golfer back then.

An excellent film. Thanks Bill Paxton, and RIP.

If you liked the film, you will like the book. Much more history on Varden and Ouimet.

Also, Francis did not give up golf after getting a job. He had several more tournament wins prior to being invited to the 1913 US Open. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Ouimet#Tournament_wins_(27)
