My review 8/10 stars.

"Prisoner 98234/6", says the judge, "you have been sentenced to two years hard labor: teaching High School".

The Girl From Monday is an excellent film, a dystopian future(?) where The Revolution has placed world power in the hands of Corporations. (The marketing after the revolution is so successful they actually convince the public that this is what they desired all along.)

All consumer spending is boiled down to a basic philosophy: Everything you buy, from the food you eat to the car you drive to the clothes you wear is done to increase your sex appeal; therefore once you engage in sex it is a success for the market! Anyone that engages in sex must register with the central bank and like a stock dividend, your personal buying power goes up allowing you to buy more items and services that increase your appeal... which in turn floats the imaginary economy by its own bootstraps.

Sex for anything but commerce, including for pleasure is against the law since it contributes nothing to the new economy. Anyone caught as part of the resistance is forced to contribute to society by engaging in the lowest form of labor available: working the concession stands on the moon.

Oh and there's something about extraterrestrials that come to earth to save us from ourselves... This is just a sample of the hidden jokes in this movie!

So, here's a list of the reasons you might hate this film: If you hate movies done on digital video, artsy blurring and dream-like effects, if you hate movies with almost no production value (the cops wear wielding goggles, bicycle helmets and wield super-soakers) or stylized dialog and scenes.

Reasons why you might like this film: Bill Sage is the Robert Redford of the 21st century, a thought provoking script, a movie that can both be a comedy and a drama at once.

Brilliant science fiction satire if you take the time to dig into the story.
