Battle System?

way to easy i blew through this whole game. actually its kinda hard to say i blew through it cause even though the battles felt like i was just walkin around with my thumb up my ass it still took days to get from place to place. i couldnt even remember the story over halfway through.

but the battle system made no sense. you didnt even have to do anything those stupid gambits made this whole game retard proof. if you set em up even at the most basic attack, heal, attack, heal you could give the controller to a monkey and still beat it.

i took off all the gambits and it was still easier than the turn based system of final fantasy 10

That's your fault, not the stories, not Square-Enix. Yours.

Another whiny idiot.

Let's see here, You have to:

Move
Manage Equipment
Manage LP
Organaize Party
Manage Skill Growth
Manage Party Roles

Field Action;
Open Doors
Open Chest
Solves Puzzles
Interact with NPC
...etc...etc..etc.

So please, do tell me at what point with these actions the game plays itself? Gambits are optional. End of.

Also note that there are plenty of games out there that use a similar idea for the AI to fight your battles (Star Ocean, Tales series). The only difference is, Gambits gave you complete control over everything. Not many other games have that.

Taking off Gambits, the game plays just like older turn-based RPG's. You can go into your menu, completely stop all enemy & ally action, choose your action, and execute. On top of that it has a charge bar, so you can see how long until execution, while the bar is charging you can Queue another action!!!

ALL Final Fantasy games have been easy before you even knew what a video game was. You also missed the point where you don't actually have to level up, use items, buy anything and use the License Board to *shock horror* make the game harder. Topic failed.

wow dude fist off you care way to much

im not the first to complain about that and wont be the last obviously since it seems like thats a bugger up your butt. square-enix shouldve put more scenes in and developed the characters better

that whole midsection between the quotes was pointless. i already said id played it and mastered it to the point where i could go make a sandwich and leave it all to the AI. and i also mentioned that i took the gambits off and didnt level at all and you even quoted it and you STILL felt the need to defend it even though my statements were pretty clear. ive played the Star Ocean series and those games were much harder and interactive the same goes for FF10.

all that you wrote was a complete waste of time/thought/energy whatever cause i can sum up everything you wrote in just a sentence

"hi im a asstard thats gonna bitch at you for not liking a game"

Please tell me your joking, the game was already long enough. Characters were also developed fine, you obviously missed them while you were "making a sandwich".

i already said id played it and mastered it to the point where i could go make a sandwich and leave it all to the AI.
So? The game didn't scream at you to do this, it was your choice. You slam the game for it, yet you STILL did it. I'd also love to know how you moved characters to the next enemy while fighting with the AI and getting a sandwich at the same time.

and i also mentioned that i took the gambits off and didnt level at all and you even quoted it and you STILL felt the need to defend it even though my statements were pretty clear.
Of course I'm going to defend it. Did you miss the point where I said all FF games are easy? Yet, weirdly enough, you did. Go play the older games.
and didnt level at all
Yeah, read back, you never mentioned that. Besides, how is that any different from the other games? Again, go play the older games.

ive played the Star Ocean series and those games were much harder and interactive the same goes for FF10.
Star Ocean is no harder if you grind, grind, oh and grind. Place everything on AI just like this game, and you can speed through it.

The ending part made me fecking laugh. How was FFX harder or more interactive than XII? Pressing "X" to attack doesn't count as you can easily replace that with an AI system (which what most games do these days, duh) and you can low level run through that game just with RIKKU. The last boss was an utter joke as well, you can defeat it with one hit. Easy as pie.
"hi im a asstard thats gonna bitch at you for not liking a game"
"hi im a *beep* tard thats gonna bitch on a board for not liking a game"

Idiot. What the hell did you expect anyway when you posted that wank? Really, though, you lost all creditabilty when you said that X was hard.

wow man theres just no talking to you

battle system was great and far more interactive than X. Dakota was right, you can switch gambits off if u really wanted, but i really don't get why anyone would want to, your essentially telling them what to do anyway with gambits, why go and do it manually over and over again.

reply

more interactive is your opinion. one that many disagree with. sure theres a bunch more monsters around and you get hours and hours and hours and HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS to walk around and fight them to the point where you dont even remember the story(woops went off topic there sorry), but you dont have to do anything.. AT ALL. ive played all kinds of rpgs and there are basically 2 types of battles; 'random' and 'out in the open' like this(but im sure you know this). and while a lot of people are starting to prefer the 'open' battle system, and i do to, this game fails with it. it dosnt integrate you into the battle at all, you just feel like your walking through the entire game waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and more waiting for that next scene which is hours away and dont offer anything for the characters development. this entire game could be summed up in a half a page and you wouldnt have to leave out a thing.

How was FFX harder or more interactive than XII? Pressing "X" to attack doesn't count as you can easily replace that with an AI system
because in X you could strategize in XII you didnt even get to mash 'X' just keep on pushing the stick.....................

and switching off the gambits, like mentioned before, dosnt make the game harder/interesting/interactive only tedious. more tedious than i could ever imagine wanting to play.

and regardless of if you agree with this a-hole you have to admit he was way outta line. he was a prick for insulting me, ignorant for refusing to believe i can have my own opinion, and even worse he tried to tell me its pointless and idiotic to voice my opinion, taking everything i said out of context and expanding on it with delusions, and this crap
Idiot. What the hell did you expect anyway when you posted that wank? Really, though, you lost all creditabilty when you said that X was hard.
what i expected was a post like yours, one that could start a conversation, not a rant from some final fantasy nerd who cant except that others could hate this game, or even disagree with him in any way cause there was no possible way he was wrong.

and there is no possible way that any person couldve had fun climbing up that damn tower

reply

Can't be bothered reading all that. Apart from this:

one that could start a conversation
I suggest you read your first post. Nothing was constructive, you bash the entire game, and expect a decent converstation. That is why I took apart your thread.

reply

you didnt take apart anything

reply

you know thats actually quite a prick move. i was glad to be rid of ya before but now that i come back and see it im kinda ticked. i read all your bullsh!* posts and they were twice as long as all mine you owe me to read what i wrote and give a decent response. otherwise youre just an *beep*

The battle system is wonderful. :) Easy but fun too, I was getting tired of pushing X for the last 10 games or so. A welcome change.

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here
