An interesting bit of trivia for you.

I'm a huge fan of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the band that former Massacre guitarist Peter Hayes is now in. In the Thanks to... of the sleeve notes from their first album, the band thanks The Dandy Warhols and BJM. Now, I'm probably reading way too much into it by even considering this, but I can't help but wonder if thanking the Warhols before BJM was meant as a bit of a snub to Anton Newcombe.
Perhaps even more interesting is that in the Thanks to... of the second BRMC album, they thank The Dandy Warhols, Oasis, U2, The Warlocks, Primal Scream and Harry Dean Stanton but not BJM.

I appologize if that wasn't too interesting, in which case, you'll never get that last minute of your life back.

Yeah, it was BRMC (I cherish this band unlike no other) that led me to the BJM. I'm not sure about any intentional snubbing as you put it, but it does seem strange to thank those bands (dandy's again) and not mention BJM. Perhaps Peter was trying to put some distance between them, but who knows?

More trivia, the BRMC song Screaming Gun is apparently about Anton...

That was actually interesting, thank you.

I had the chance to meet Peter after a show in Cleveland two years ago, and as he was signing my record, I made sure to tell him how much better than The Dandys AND the BJM I think BRMC really is. He may have been whacked out of his mind on booze and whatnot, but I like to believe he appreciated the comment.
