Another question (SPOILERS)

Can anyone piece together the Dad/Hilga story? What exactly is the nature of the relationship? Did he abuse her as a child? Is he in fact the Satan, and she is his half-human daughter? If that is the case, why does he say: "I'm not really in charge here?" Is this a humorous reference to the film director?

Also, has anyone seen "Roman" -- directed by Angela Bettis. This woman is so freaking brilliant, I'm sure it's worth watching.
