How long do you think the kids keep their theme rooms?

When I was 8 years old, you could have built me the coolest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Room ever, but I would have grown out of it by the time I was 9.

I was just watching the Peter Family episode and they built a room for a son (who was probably over 18) an Ambulance room and his bed was in the back of an Ambulance. I agree, it is cool... but how do you expect to get laid when you sleep in something like that?

By "playing" doctor.

My boyfriend and I always talk about that when we watch the show. Especially that epi with the ambulance room. What 18 year old wants an ambulance room! Fine, he's an EMT, so? You have to be really careful what you say to those people. If you say you like books you can be sure you're gonna sleep in a bed made up by books, there will be books on the walls, on the carpet and probably in the ceiling... They're crazy! When I was five I would have loved a My little Pony room, when I was 6 Barbie room. Kids change their minds every five seconds!

Exactly my thoughts. The theme rooms are always way over done, no kid is going to want the same thing he did, even months done the road.

And why do they always seem to give them twin beds? I am only 5'2 and I sleep in a queen. How do they expect a full grown guy to sleep in such a tiny bed? But yah the theme rooms are pointless. I remember one episode where they turned a little girl's room into a dollhouse. Imagine explaining that to your friends at 13 years old.

I think maybe the teens will keep their theme rooms until they move out. I think the younger kids would probably want their room changed after a year or two.

I would THINK that some of these 18+ kids that still live at home would want their own apartment instead of a themed room. I know that some stay at home still because they are helping out with a disabled sibling or helping single mom out who has six kids. However, alot of them just still live at home because they'd miss mommy and daddy. That is kind of creepy..an over 18 EMT that still lives with mommy and daddy bringing his date home to his ambulance room.

I agree about the themed rooms and be careful what you say. Like a girl today had two boomboxes in her room and the designer said'oh, you love music?" Who doesn't? I mean come on..so she makes a guitar bed and all kinds of other music furniture and it's like come on..kids have more than one interest.

One that I thought was over the top was for the kid who wanted to be an architect when he grew up. He liked to draw sketches of buildings but he really knew nothing about what an architect does, yet they made him this elaborate architect studyroom that I thought was a little over the top for someone that wouldn't even know how to use any of the materials, since he's oh, I dunno, a KID..
