Good Movie and I'M GLADDDDDDDDDD !!!

This movie at first I was NOT going to watch. I thought...who cares, it'll be a very cheap cheesy weak female version of the Barber Shop. But in reality, it rivals both of the Ice Cube movies. Some sexy ladies in this movie and it taught a few tiny morals.

NOW for the BLONDE who's all over IMDB who can NOT get over this movie. Why doesn't she watch movies like Mississippi Burning...Rosewood or American History X or better yet A Time To Kill.

See people are the way that they are, due to history and lifestyles. I'm a minority, but you will NOT hear me complain about petty things because minorities never had petty things to complain about, due to money, environment and status.

If I can enjoy Jim Varney's rendition of the Beverly Hillbillies and enjoy it more than the original series itself...what am I going to say.....They're making fun of hillbillies or people who don't have an education passed 6th grade ??? Movies are MOVIES...by anyone "willingly" viewing them...you SHOULD have an idea of the content. By coming on here to b--ch about it, does NOT make you seem intelligent in any fashion, but very very stupid.

Example = A friend of mines used to work at BlockBuster Video back when "Brokeback Mountain" released for home rental. He as a gay man, was astonished that so many customers came back to the video store to "complain" on WHY is the store allowed to put out movies to rent that deal with the subject with "homosexuality" ??? But YET, when there are movies about lesbians or women flaunting their parts left and right, no one complains ( I know I don't )

So don't come on IMDB putting up some stupid ying yang....it will serve you NO purpose, BTW if you're soooooooo worried about racism...look up your family tree like Arnold Schwarzenegger's dad being a Nazi. At least this is FICTION compared to that !!

OK...I'm not entirely sure what that WHOLE thing was about, but I do want to agree with the part about this movie being really good! Not that it should matter, but I am whiter than white (there's a running joke in our family about us being vampires...we all avoid the sun like it'll kill us lol) and I still found plenty of 'relatable' aspects in this movie. Queen Latifah is one of my favorite actresses, beautiful, classy, and a role model for young girls of any race, age, or body type. Alfre Woodard can do no wrong in my eyes, and she did not disappoint here; I love her character! DH's voice is like velvet; I wish I could get it in my GPS. I'd just drive around all day long! Lol The rest of the cast pulled together quite well.
I have to say that if there is anything to pick on here, besides Alicia Silverstone and Kevin Bacon's overdone acting, it would be Mena Suvari's horrible character. In what world is it OK for anyone to treat people the way she did? I realize that this is just a movie, but when she grabbed James' butt, I would think that if HE didn't put an immediate stop to it, Gina should have, then Lynn and the other girls should have taken her out behind the shop and beat her like she stole something. Her checkbook was the only redeeming feature she had.
So it's a bit predictable, it's not Shakespeare, but all in all, it's a fun movie that I always enjoy watching!

I love this movie and it hurts to see all of the negative blogs. Just enjoy the movies, forget the bad acting, which I didn't see, because I'm not looking for any. Just want to laugh. If we would take the time to learn about each other snd our different cultures, life wouldn't be so bad. A lot of people eat catfish, and greens and pull apart bread, we my have different names for it, that's all. It is customary, but not in all Black shops for personal vendors to come in our shops and sell their products and food and the products are not stolen goods, just another way to earn extra cash. I am a Black person that love all races and have worked with all races of people. One time my White coworker ask me could he feel my hair, I said sure. To his surprise, he said "oh it's so soft", my hair looks kinky but it's not hard or dry. I appreciated him asking and he learned something. So let's try to stop the hate and learn about each other, because bottom line, wr are all related.
