Quite bad, especially the effects

The helicopter which exploded, the jet plane, they looked so fake. Even in 2005 they could do much better. The plane was worst because they kept showing the fake effects of the plane tumbling. I can't believe this became a franchise - the first movie was tolerable until the last third, but the fakeness of the effects in the second made it sub par, and so did the cartoony villains.
I was surprised how bad it actually was.
Both had horrible writing as well.
