This flick is just one big advert for Audi

The hero was driving the new shining W12 A8, the mother of the kid was driving A3 I suppose and finally he raced Lambo Murcielago, which is a product of the same company...how much Audi paid to promote these cars once again?

That's what we call product placement.

Amusingly it's on Film4 now and sponsored by BMW!

reply

whats wrong with product placement if it doesn't get in the way of a thoroughly enjoyable film? (which in this case, it most definitely didn't)

Belief in a supernatural source of evil is unnecessary -We alone are capable of every wickedness

Who the *beep* cares?! He's got to drive some car doesn't he? Would you have preferred Ford or Chrysler? In american movies they always drive with those. How's that for product placement.

reply

Product placement is ok when it matches the characters and the style of the film.
In this one, I think it was done just right.

Compare the stupid girlie BMW Z3 in GOLDEN EYE.
That was awful.

You know its a movie because his Audi actually ran when he needed it to. Unlike the unreliable junk everyone else gets from them.
