I mean come on, Jamie looks just like Jill, Dan Ayrkoyd and Jills dad (the colonel, forgot his name) were both in it, even the neighbor kid looked like a Taylor kid. Tim goes overboard on Xmas eppys on H.I. as he does in this, and every other reference. Anyone else agree?
Love's like an Action movie, It can be Explosive, Lots of Cus words, & brief nudity.

i acctually thought those same thoughts! jill + nora are very similar characters, blair and randy both went away to south america and came back for christmas, tim and luther both go totally overboard and are too thick headed to realize it...the list goes on and on. dont get me wrong i love H.I. and i thought christmas with the kranks was a cute and funny movie as well. im just saying i also thought there were many similarities.

People, it is based on a John Grisham novel. I don't think Grisham was sitting thinking, "I think I am going to make this book just like the sitcom Home Improvement" while writing the book. Just because some of the same actors that were in HI were in this movie doesn't make the two similar. And I know what I'm talking about; I am about the biggest fanatic of Home Improvement that you would ever meet, and besides the actors, I didn't notice any similarities between the two.

That neighbor kid "Spike" was also a boyscout in some Home Improvement episodes, at least one I can remember when Tim tries to teach them how to overcome their fear (I think it was the snake in the wall).

On Home Improvement the idea to skip Christmas would be more likely gender flipped- Jill would come up with the idea in order to stop Tim from doing some OTT home Christmas display that would possibly blow up the house.
