Yeah, and how are they saving that much money? he's spending money on tanning bed vistis, and botox.
shareIm sure theyre still saving money though. Even if it isnt 3,000 like it was originally.
I also wondered about the wreath. Im guessing Nora just put it up for some holiday spirit. But halfway through the movie, Luther rips it down.

The neighbors put it on his door to piss him off.
Plotholes are like Bigfoot, people who claim to see them are just trying to stir things up.
I just wonder how they were spending several thousand a year in the first place. It's not like they were buying all new lights and decorations every time, aside from the tree and wreath. Were they serving the entire neighborhood filet mignon and dom perignon during that annual dinner?
shareYou also don't know what sort or how many gifts they were buying. Was the wife getting a new car, or fancy jewelry? Was Blair receiving expensive shoes?
shareYeah noticed it, but it provided a literay device in that he then tore it down in a fit of digust later in the movie.
my god its full of stars
Before they even decided to skip Christmas, there are already some small decorations around the house, like the snowman salt and pepper shakers JLC is using at dinner. Maybe the wreath was already up before the idea to skip?
shareYea, they already had the wreath up before their daughter left for the Peace Corps. You can also see clear storage boxes of decorations in their dining room ready to go up the night Luther brings up the cruise at dinner. My house is just like that right now. We have up a wreath (so easy) on the door, the Elf in the Shelf has been out since Thanksgiving weekend, and the advent calendar is out since it starts the first day of December. Last night my husband put up garland and lights on our staircase to surprise me. That's it so far. We don't have the tree here nor any other decorations out. We do have the boxes of decorations out like the Kranks.
