Vincent Ward removed

Ward has been removed from his position as director. No news yet on why but I'm sure we will find out soon enough. Who will direct now?

I've heard that an American director is being brought in to finish the project. I wonder what this means for Vincent Ward's future. He had been working on this project for a number of years. Most people I've talked to who worked on the production were less than complimentary about Ward. They, like him, gave their heart and soul to the movie, but were quite damning of his attitude to the crew. Despite the protests from the producers at the time, it appears that the various media reports over the initial production period were largely correct - it was a troubled from the beginning.

This looks like the case. Disappointing, I just hope the movie turns out well anyway.

River Queen sounds like one of the most picturesque movies ever to be filmed right here in my homeland of New Zealand. I am originally from Whanganui and I am really besotted that it is being filmed there. We should be proud that a mvie like this is being made here. Good luck to everyone involved and I hope it's great!

Oh, and by the way, it isn't cold in Whanganui. It is one of the warmer places in New Zealand. Why worry about the cold when you are in such a beautiful place anyway?

I agreee. It is a beautiful town and the movie sounds like a lovely tale. However, for the record, the region is known as Wanganui, the city is Wanganui, but the river is the Whanganui River. Allowing the river to be called the Whanganui River was a token gesture by the WDC to maintain peace with the native people. Most citizens of Wanganui don't mind referring to the river as The Whanganui River, but strongly object to the city being called Whanganui.

Go River Queen. Can't wait to see the movie.
