Does anyone know of any other films that are similar to River Queen in terms of being historically set and beautifully shot?

I suppose in terms of the New Zealand Civil war one other named "Utu" meaning revenge does exist and can be viewed online.

The Piano may be similar...I can't really remember though, I watched it so long ago. It's got Anna Paquin in it.

yes i agree I would suggest you watch the new world to you . It has nothing to do with maori But its a culture similair to maori . Both movies are great
