Some Issues

The movie is awesome, but there are some strange issues, why in the hell did Hillary Swank fly from New York to Cape Town and then drive North to the Karoo, whereas it would probably have been quicker to fly to Joburg and drive South to the Karoo. It is like going to Boston via California, instead of say via New York.

Then secondly, Alex's car's registration was EC, which says it is registered in the Eastern Cape, whereas he works in Pretoria, in the province of Gauteng, so the registration should be something GP for Gauteng Province.

Jacques, you sound quite like a local boet, and in the case of Hilary Swanks arriving via CT you're right. See, I don't know exactly where this probably fictional town is supposed to be situated but it could be the Eastern Cape. Looks more like the free state though. Alex, as a member of Parliament, was probably arriving by plane at the nearest airport and took a rental car from there, hence the EC registration.

Also I don't think this movie is awesome. IMHO it is a wasted opportunity.

Most movies have what's called "goofs" and this one is no different.

Isn't the Karoo closer to CT than Jozi? And why not have EC registrations? My sister lives in Jozi but her registration is EC...And the point is?

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous

These "goofs" are themselves goofs.

Don't know where the OP got his/her Geography from, but "the Karroo", a large area to be sure, would be closer to Cape Town. MUCH closer, and certainly the closest international (or major for that matter) airport. Sure, you could fly to Oudshoorn but that's a two-horse town.

Rental cars have random registrations. This would have been closer than you think, too, because the film crew probably rented that car - i.e. it really *was* a rental.

When looking for goofs in a movie, try not to nit-pick. It's silly, and you detract from your own enjoyment (for want of a better word) of the movie.

I do not have much issues with the geography. I was more interested in the substance of the film.
