I thought the police were there because they found the stolen car - so she goes inside and her partner stays outside in their car, right? So why the hell didn't he stop Teukku driving off in it??
Or have I got confused somewhere along the line?
I loved the movie, Finnish is such a beautiful language to listen to.
If I remember right, her partner was sleeping in the patrol car. She didn't even bother to wake him up. She probably expected to find the car thief passed out in the motel; something you can handle without your partner. Real cops might not act as careless - even in a routine case like this.
shareI wondered this myself. Indeed the officer is sleeping when they arrive, so I thought that he's still sleeping later on. But then I watched the deleted scenes on the DVD and there is one scene where the old guy leaves the hotel and talks to the awaken officer near the car, This one later searches something inside the car and in this moment he's killed by the other guy from behind with the vacuum cleaner the same way he killed the two others. That fits seamlessly as well.
