The trailer sucks!

The movie is awesome, but the trailer is beyond crap. It's like it was put together in two minutes or something. What's up with that?! It was the same thing with "Rukajärven Tie". Didn't like that film very much, but it had beautiful cinematography. It too was a solar films flick. What's wrong with those guys?

Rukajärventie wasn't made by Solar Films. It's by Mattila Röhr Productions.
And in my oppinion there is lots of things wrong with those Solar films-guys (for example look at Selin)...

Mattila Röhr Productions, ofcourse - my bad. Have they made more than one trailer for "Paha Maa"? The one I saw was on solarfilm's web site. Maybe Jani and I are talking about different trailers.

For some reason most Finnish movies have very crappy trailers. They are usually very confusing and tell nothing about the plot. Of course, there are exceptions, for example Mies vailla menneisyyttä and Häjyt have pretty good trailers.

Paha maa has quite an ugly poster aswell: Just the face of Jasper Pääkkönen and couple of small pictures around it. The movie is excellent though.

reply

Yes the trailer is awful to the extent that it even spoils the movie by showing too much of the pivotal points of the plot.

i like this kind of movies, but this movie was boring. There was some scenes what should have cut off from final version. And sometime they filmed someone too long and nothin did happen (of course they wanted to show how sad the situation was) but the movie should be 30-40 mins shorter. ** out of *****

You think Jasper Pääkkönen's face is ugly?! Well, I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time:)

Mitä helvettiä? Well, I think the movie too is beyond crap, not just the trailer. Come on, a flick about "everything going wrong" and these sulking cliche-Finns talking in this psycho-babble straight out of Me Naiset? A plot that is boring, pretentious and not credible? The complete lack of depth?

The Norwegian reviewer guy there was right. It's really just sheer social pornography just for the fun of it. Don't try to pretend it's anything smart, hip, deep or even entertaining. Only the Swedes like it anyway, and they're even more f*d-up than we.

Maybe you should watch your Kaurismäki and Jarva, spot the difference, and come back again to discuss the "best Finnish movie ever".
