Sosie Bacon......
She was such a beautiful girl and she shines on screen. I hope to see her again soon. She seems to be a natural, good luck to her.

shareI came on this site just to make comment about this young lady...The movie itself was interesting and such talent involved. But I have to say that Sosie Bacon stole the show. Not only was she darling and, I agree totally, "a natural," but I also thought she sang really well. That school talent scene that featured her parents cringing in their seats had me calling my own daughters in to see the performance. My girls are in choir and forced to sing these obscure, non-melodic pieces and I wanted them to see this young girl sing her little heart out, a tune that meant something to her and she did so with a very raw and untrained but clearly special voice. This girl could easily decide to pursue either acting or music or like her famous dad, both.
"Bill, strange things are afoot at the Circle K."
Her mom is also famous. Miss Kyra Sedgwick herself. :-)
shareOn ifilm.com there is an interview with Kevin Bacon about making the movie and he tells a funny story about asking his daughter to do the role. She did not want to do it at first because she would miss too much school so they reworked the shooting schedule for her.
I agree she was excellent; I especially liked her rendition of Life on Mars.
I agree that this little girl was fabulously talented, and I would love to see her again; however, on the DVD commentary, Kevin Bacon said that acting is not something her normally encourages in his children, but he thought it would be good for them to get it out of their systems (Sosie's brother Trevor also has a small role).
Soo... you care about the opinions of a woman whose pet peeves are sobriety and kindness.
sosie is so cute and her singing in the talent show was so sweet

I enjoyed the part of the story about her the most. It was very believable to me. And, of course, she was very good at the role. I also liked the idea of a child singing "Life on Mars?" at a school show an awful lot (it seems so strange, but perfect for the movie).
(Didn't it look like the 1970s had hit her parents VERY hard? -- I mean the characters in the movie who played her parents.)

I loved her in this movie. Can't wait to see her more. I love the part when she sings in the talent show.
shareI usually take the side of the parents but in this case I take exception. I hope to see Sosie in other things. Her part was the one that broke my heart the most. Who of us doesn't remember what it's like to feel awkward, alone and abandoned by everyone? I do!
Her facial expressions..etc., I loved this little girl. It didn't hurt that she looks a lot like her mom. It made it easier and more believable when the shots switched from the grown mom to the child (Sosie) again.
